Albuminuria

Albuminuria is a medical condition in which albumin, a type of protein found in the blood, is found in abnormally high amounts in the urine. This is usually caused by kidney damage, which can lead to damage to the glomeruli (the tiny filtering units within the kidneys). Albuminuria can be an indication of several different medical conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, certain types of kidney disease, or a urinary tract infection. It is important to diagnose and treat albuminuria as soon as possible, as it can lead to further kidney damage and other serious complications if left untreated. Treatment typically involves the use of medications to control blood pressure and/or reduce inflammation, as well as lifestyle changes such as reducing salt intake, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight.
