Vulnerary
A vulnerary is a type of medicinal activity which is specifically used to treat wounds. It is typically defined as a wound healing agent, and can include both topical treatments and systemic treatments. Topical treatments may include creams, ointments, gels, and salves, while systemic treatments may include herbal remedies, homeopathic remedies, and nutritional supplementation. The goal of a vulnerary is to reduce inflammation, reduce swelling, stop bleeding, promote healing, and reduce the risk of infection. These treatments can be applied to both acute and chronic wounds. In some cases, vulneraries can even help to reduce scarring.
