Proaggregant
Proaggregants are substances used in medicine to promote the formation of blood clots. These substances work by activating platelets, which are cells in the blood that play an important role in the clotting process. Platelets contain proteins and other molecules that, when triggered, cause them to stick together and form a clot. Proaggregants are used to treat conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and heart attack. They are also used to prevent bleeding in patients who have had surgery or have certain conditions, such as low platelet levels. Proaggregants can also be used to help stop bleeding in trauma patients.
