Moisturizer

Moisturizer is a topical preparation that is used to hydrate the skin and prevent dryness. It is a product that helps to keep the skin looking healthy, soft and supple. The primary purpose of a moisturizer is to increase skin hydration, reduce water loss, and maintain a healthy skin barrier. Moisturizers contain ingredients such as humectants, emollients, and occlusives. Humectants help to draw water from the deeper skin layers and the environment, while emollients help to soften and smooth the skin. Occlusives help to form a protective layer on the surface of the skin and help to prevent water loss. Moisturizers can also contain additional ingredients such as ceramides, lipids, and antioxidants which help to improve the skin's natural barrier and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging. Moisturizers can also be used to treat specific skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne.
