Insulinogenic

Insulinogenic is the ability of a substance to stimulate the production of insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps the body regulate its levels of glucose, or blood sugar. It is important in regulating metabolism and energy levels. Insulinogenic substances are often used to treat type 2 diabetes, a condition in which the body is unable to produce enough insulin to regulate glucose levels. They work by stimulating the pancreas to produce more insulin, resulting in lower blood sugar levels. Insulinogenic substances can also be used to treat conditions such as obesity, where excess glucose is stored in the body as fat. Insulinogenic substances can also be used to help regulate appetite and reduce cravings for unhealthy foods.
