Hypertriglyceridemic

Hypertriglyceridemic activity is a medicinal activity that is used to help lower blood levels of triglycerides. Triglycerides are a type of fat that can increase the risk for heart disease if levels become too high. Hypertriglyceridemic activity can be accomplished through a variety of different methods. These methods include lifestyle modifications such as reducing saturated fat and cholesterol in the diet, increasing physical activity, and reducing alcohol intake. Additionally, medications such as statins, fibrates, and nicotinic acid can also be used to help decrease triglyceride levels. Finally, omega-3 fatty acids and other supplements may be recommended to help manage triglyceride levels as well.
