Epileptigenic
Epileptigenic is a term used to describe the activity of a substance or compound that is capable of inducing epileptic seizures. This activity is typically identified through the use of animal models, such as rats and mice, in which the substance or compound is administered, and the resulting changes in electrical activity in the brain are monitored. Epileptigenic activity can be either excitatory or inhibitory, and is usually measured by the number of seizures induced in the animal model. The purpose of this activity is to identify substances that may be effective in treating epilepsy and other neurological disorders. In addition, epileptigenic activity can be used to develop new treatments for these disorders.
