Decongestant
Decongestants are medications used to reduce the swelling and irritation of nasal and sinus passages caused by the common cold, allergies, or other illnesses. Decongestants work by constricting the blood vessels in the nasal passages and decreasing the amount of fluid in the mucous membranes. This reduces the congestion and allows for easier breathing. Decongestants are available in the form of pills, liquids, nasal sprays, and inhalers. They are used to treat the symptoms of sinus congestion, allergies, and the common cold. They can also be used to treat ear infections, as they help to reduce the pain and pressure associated with the infection.
