Cyclooxygenase Activator

Cyclooxygenase (COX) activators are drugs that act on a key enzyme in the body’s inflammatory response. They work by increasing the activity of the enzyme, which is responsible for the production of two important molecules called prostaglandins and thromboxanes. Prostaglandins cause inflammation and pain, while thromboxanes can cause blood clotting. COX activators reduce inflammation and pain by inhibiting the production of these molecules. This can be beneficial in treating conditions such as arthritis, migraine headaches, and other inflammatory diseases. In addition, they can also be used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke by preventing the formation of blood clots.
