COX-2 Inhibitor

COX-2 inhibitors are drugs that reduce the activity of an enzyme known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). This enzyme is involved in the production of certain hormones called prostaglandins, which are involved in inflammation and pain. By inhibiting COX-2, these drugs reduce the production of certain prostaglandins and can reduce inflammation and pain. COX-2 inhibitors are used to treat a variety of conditions such as arthritis, bursitis, and tendonitis. They can also be used to reduce pain and inflammation associated with such conditions. Additionally, some COX-2 inhibitors have been used to reduce the risk of certain types of cancer. COX-2 inhibitors work by blocking the activity of the enzyme COX-2. This reduces the production of certain prostaglandins, which are involved in inflammation and pain. By reducing the production of these prostaglandins, the drugs can reduce inflammation and pain associated with certain conditions.
