ATPase-Inhibitor

ATPase-inhibitors are compounds that inhibit the activity of ATPases. ATPases are enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP, the main energy currency of cells. ATPase-inhibitors are used to inhibit the activity of ATPases in order to study their role in various processes or to inhibit the energy production of certain cells. For example, inhibitors can be used to study how ATPase activity is regulated in various cellular processes, or to inhibit the energy production of cancer cells. ATPase-inhibitors can also be used as drugs to treat certain diseases, such as bacterial infections, cancer, and neurological disorders. In these cases, ATPase-inhibitors may be used to block the energy production of certain cells, thus preventing the growth of the disease.
