Arrhythmigenic

Arrhythmigenic is a term used to describe pharmaceutical agents that can cause or contribute to abnormal heart rhythms, also known as arrhythmias. These agents are used to treat certain types of heart rhythm abnormalities, such as atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia. Arrhythmigenic agents work by altering the electrical activity in the heart, either by blocking certain electrical signals or by increasing the rate of electrical conduction. They can also be used to reduce the risk of arrhythmia-related complications, such as stroke. Additionally, some arrhythmigenic agents are used to reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death.
