Antiuremic

An antiuremic agent is a type of medication used to treat a condition known as uremia, or kidney failure. Uremia occurs when the kidneys are unable to adequately remove waste products from the body, resulting in a build-up of toxins in the bloodstream. Antiuremic agents work by helping the kidneys to excrete more toxins, which in turn helps to reduce the symptoms and complications of uremia. Commonly used antiuremic agents include diuretics, which help to increase the amount of fluid in the body, and drugs that block the reabsorption of toxins in the renal tubules. These medications can be taken orally or injected directly into the bloodstream.
