Antirhinoviral

Antirhinoviral medications are drugs that are specifically designed to treat infections caused by rhinoviruses. These viruses are responsible for the common cold, as well as other respiratory illnesses, such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Antirhinoviral medications work by blocking the action of the virus, preventing it from replicating and spreading. In some cases, they can also reduce the severity and duration of symptoms associated with a rhinoviral infection. Antirhinoviral medications can be taken in the form of oral tablets, nasal sprays, and eye drops, depending on the severity of the infection and the type of virus involved. The most common antirhinoviral medications are acyclovir, famciclovir, and valacyclovir. These drugs can reduce the duration and severity of rhinoviral infections, as well as reduce the risk of complications and further infection. They are also used to prevent rhinoviral infections from taking hold in those who are at a higher risk of contracting them.
