Antimetastatic

Antimetastatic drugs are used to prevent or slow the spread of cancer from the original tumor to other parts of the body. These drugs work by targeting specific proteins and pathways involved in the spread of cancer. This can be done by blocking the growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis inhibitors) or by targeting cancer cells directly and preventing them from migrating and invading new areas of the body (metastasis inhibitors). In some cases, antimetastatic drugs can also be used in combination with other treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation to increase the effectiveness of the treatment. By targeting the spread of cancer, antimetastatic drugs can help extend the life expectancy of cancer patients and improve the overall quality of life.
