Antilymphocytic
Antilymphocytic serum is a type of medical product that is used to treat certain autoimmune diseases. It is a biological product that is derived from the blood of an animal that has been immunized with the specific antigen of the autoimmune disease. The serum is then injected into the patient and acts as an immunosuppressant by targeting the lymphocytes that are responsible for the autoimmune response. This allows for the body's immune system to be suppressed so that it can no longer attack the body's own cells. This can be effective in treating a variety of different autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and Crohn's disease.
