Antifeedant
An antifeedant is a type of medical activity that is used to discourage or prevent the ingestion or eating of a substance, especially by animals. It is most often used to prevent pests from eating crops or other plants. Antifeedants work by interfering with the animals’ digestive system, making the food less palatable or even toxic. They can also trigger an aversion to a certain food, which makes animals less likely to feed on it. Examples of antifeedants include bittering agents, repellents, and neurotoxins. Some antifeedants are used in agriculture to protect crops from pests, while others are used in pest control to keep animals away from areas where they may cause harm.
