Antialzheimeran
Antialzheimeran is the use of medications to treat Alzheimer's disease or reduce its symptoms. Alzheimer's is a progressive, degenerative disorder that affects areas of the brain involved in memory, thinking, and behavior. The most common medications used for Alzheimer's are cholinesterase inhibitors, which work to increase the levels of neurotransmitters in the brain that are necessary for memory and learning. These drugs help to improve cognitive function and slow the progression of the disease. Other medications, such as memantine, work to reduce the toxic effects of a protein called amyloid-beta, which has been linked to Alzheimer's disease. In addition, antidepressants may be used to treat the depression that often accompanies Alzheimer's, and medications such as memantine may also be used to reduce agitation and improve sleep.
