Antiabortive

Antabortive is any medication or other intervention that is used to prevent or terminate a pregnancy. It works by blocking the hormones needed for a successful pregnancy to occur, including progesterone, which is essential for a fertilized egg to implant in the uterine wall. Antabortive can be taken orally, injected, or inserted into the vagina or cervix. It can also be used as an emergency contraceptive, taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. It works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovary or by blocking fertilization of the egg by sperm. It can also prevent implantation of a fertilized egg in the uterus.
