Antacid

An antacid is a medication used to neutralize stomach acidity and relieve heartburn and indigestion. It works by binding to and neutralizing excess acid in the stomach, which helps to reduce pain and discomfort caused by acid reflux and other digestive ailments. Antacids usually contain a combination of aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide, which bind to and neutralize the stomach acid. They may also contain other ingredients such as calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, and simethicone, which can provide additional relief from gas and bloating. Antacids are available in both liquid and tablet forms, and can be taken before or after meals to help prevent or treat symptoms of acid reflux or indigestion.
