Anaphrodisiac
An anaphrodisiac is a drug or substance that reduces libido or sexual desire. It is the opposite of an aphrodisiac, which is a drug or substance that increases libido or sexual desire. Anaphrodisiacs are typically used to treat hypersexuality, sexual addiction, and compulsive sexual behaviors. They can also be used in medical treatments for conditions such as prostate cancer. Anaphrodisiacs work by blocking the release of certain hormones and neurotransmitters in the brain that are responsible for sexual arousal and desire. Some of the most commonly used anaphrodisiacs are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine and sertraline. Other anaphrodisiacs include antiandrogens, such as cyproterone acetate, and certain antipsychotics.
