Yellow Fever
Yellow fever is an acute viral haemorrhagic disease which is transmitted through the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito. It is caused by the Yellow Fever virus, a type of Flavivirus. The disease is found in tropical and subtropical areas of Africa and Central and South America. Symptoms of yellow fever include fever, chills, headache, nausea, vomiting, back pain, abdominal pain, and muscle aches. In some cases, the disease can progress to jaundice, kidney failure, and even death. In order to protect against yellow fever, a vaccine is available and is recommended for people travelling to areas where the virus is present.
