Xeroderma

Xeroderma is a medical condition characterized by abnormally dry skin. It is caused by a decrease in the amount of natural oil produced by the skin, and can be exacerbated by environmental factors such as cold temperatures, exposure to chemicals or detergents, and even stress. Symptoms of xeroderma include dry, itchy, and scaly skin, as well as cracking and peeling of the skin. Treatment for xeroderma typically involves moisturizing the skin, avoiding environmental factors which can worsen the condition, and in some cases, topical steroids or oral medications.
