Whipworm
Whipworm is a parasitic nematode, or roundworm, that infects the intestines of humans and other animals. It is one of the most common human parasites, and is found in many parts of the world. The most common symptom of whipworm infection is abdominal pain and diarrhea, but it can also cause rectal bleeding, fever, and weight loss. Treatment for whipworm infection is typically done with medication, such as albendazole and mebendazole. Proper hygiene, such as washing hands and avoiding contact with contaminated soil, can help prevent whipworm infection.
