Uremia

Uremia is a medical condition in which the concentration of substances in the blood, such as urea, creatinine, and other waste products, is abnormally high due to impaired kidney function. Uremia occurs when the kidneys are unable to filter out these substances and they accumulate in the blood. This can lead to a range of symptoms including nausea, vomiting, fatigue, anemia, and swelling of the feet and ankles. In severe cases, uremia can cause confusion, coma, and even death. Treatment for uremia usually involves controlling the underlying cause of kidney dysfunction, such as diabetes, and taking medications to reduce the amount of waste products in the blood. Dialysis may be necessary in some cases to filter out the waste products from the blood.
