Strains
Strains refer to the specific genetic variety of cannabis that has been developed with the aim of providing particular therapeutic benefits. Strains are bred to produce higher levels of certain compounds, such as cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), that have been found to have medicinal benefits. Strains contain various combinations of cannabinoids and terpenes, which are compounds that are responsible for the flavor and aroma of cannabis. These compounds interact with each other to produce a variety of effects, which can be beneficial in treating certain medical conditions. Some strains are specifically bred to be higher in CBD, which is believed to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and can be helpful in treating conditions such as chronic pain and anxiety. Other strains may be higher in THC, which is thought to be beneficial for reducing nausea and stimulating appetite, and can also provide relief from depression and anxiety.
