Spasm
Spasm is a sudden involuntary contraction of a muscle or group of muscles. It can be caused by a variety of factors such as a muscle injury, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, nerve damage, or even a reaction to certain medications. Spasms often cause pain and difficulty with movement. In severe cases, the spasm may cause the affected muscle to become rigid and unable to move. Treatment typically involves medications or physical therapy. In some cases, a nerve block may be recommended to help reduce the muscle spasm.
