Sinus Tachycardia

Sinus tachycardia is a type of abnormal heartbeat in which the heart rate is too fast. It happens when the sinoatrial node (SA node), which acts as the heart’s natural pacemaker, sends out electrical signals at a faster rate than normal. This causes the heart to beat faster than usual. It is usually caused by an underlying medical condition or emotional stress. Symptoms of sinus tachycardia include a racing heart, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and chest discomfort. In most cases, sinus tachycardia is not dangerous and can be managed with lifestyle changes and medications. However, in some cases, it can be a sign of a more serious medical condition and should be evaluated by a doctor.
