Quinsy

Quinsy is a medical condition where the tonsils become infected and swollen. It is a type of bacterial infection that is caused by either streptococcus pyogenes or streptococcus bacteria, and it occurs when bacteria becomes trapped in the folds of the tonsils. The infected tonsils will cause a severe sore throat, fever, and difficulty swallowing. Quinsy is also associated with other symptoms such as swollen neck lymph nodes, general fatigue, and a reduced appetite. It is important to seek medical attention if quinsy is suspected because the infection can spread to other parts of the body if left untreated. Treatment for Quinsy typically involves antibiotics, pain relievers, and rest. In more severe cases, the tonsils may need to be surgically removed.
