Pregnancy
Pregnancy is the process in which a woman carries a fetus inside her body from conception to birth. This process typically lasts around nine months and is divided into three trimesters. During this time, the woman’s body goes through many changes in order to accommodate the growing fetus. The first trimester is the period of time in which the fetus develops and grows the most rapidly. During this time, the organs, limbs, and body systems of the fetus begin to form. A woman may experience a variety of symptoms during this time, such as morning sickness, fatigue, and food cravings. The second trimester is the period of time in which the fetus continues to grow and develop, but at a slower rate. A woman’s body continues to go through changes during this time, such as an increase in her breast size and a decrease in her waistline. The third trimester is the period of time in which the fetus is almost ready for birth. During this time, the fetus’s organs and systems are fully developed and the woman’s body prepares for labor. She may experience an increase in Braxton Hicks contractions, as well as other symptoms such as back pain and trouble sleeping.
