Pleurodynia
Pleurodynia is a medical condition that is characterized by sudden, severe episodes of pain in the chest or abdomen. It is caused by a viral infection and is usually self-limiting, meaning that it usually resolves without treatment. Symptoms usually begin with a sudden onset of chest pain that is intense and sharp, often radiating to the back. Pain may also be felt in the abdomen. Other symptoms such as fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, and muscle aches may also occur. Treatment is typically supportive and may include rest, analgesics, and antiemetics. In some cases, antiviral medications may be prescribed.
