Phlebitis
Phlebitis is an inflammation of a vein, typically in the arms or legs. It can be caused by trauma, infection, or a medical procedure such as an intravenous (IV) injection or a catheter. Symptoms of phlebitis may include redness, pain, or swelling in the affected area, as well as a feeling of warmth. In some cases, the affected vein may be visible through the skin. Treatment for phlebitis typically involves antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and rest. In some cases, the affected vein may need to be surgically removed.
