Neurasthenia

Neurasthenia is a medical condition that involves feelings of physical and mental exhaustion, irritability, and depression. It is a disorder that has been recognized since the late 19th century, though it is no longer classified as a distinct disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Neurasthenia is believed to be caused by a variety of factors, including physical and emotional stress, overwork, and exposure to environmental toxins. Symptoms may include fatigue, insomnia, headaches, muscle weakness, and irritability. Treatment typically involves lifestyle modifications such as stress management, physical activity, and healthy eating, as well as counseling and psychotherapy.
