Necrosis

Necrosis is the death of cells or tissues in the body due to a variety of causes, such as injury, disease, or a toxic substance. Necrosis occurs when cells or tissues die due to a lack of oxygen, usually caused by a decrease in blood supply. Necrosis can also be caused by inflammation, infection, trauma, or toxins. The affected cells or tissues become damaged and unable to continue functioning, leading to their death. Necrotic cells may appear discolored and may have a foul odor due to the release of cellular contents as the cells break down. Necrosis is a serious condition that can lead to organ failure, infection, or other complications if not treated promptly.
