Lice

Lice are parasites that feed on human blood and live in the skin, typically in the scalp, eyebrows, and eyelashes. They can spread from person to person through close contact, such as sharing clothing or bedding, or via indirect contact with items such as combs, brushes, or hats. Lice infestations are also known as pediculosis. Lice cause an itchy, red rash on the skin, as well as other symptoms, such as headaches, fatigue, and fever. It is important to take appropriate steps to prevent spread of the infestation, such as regular washing of clothing and bedding, and frequent combing of the scalp. Treatment typically involves using medicated shampoos and lotions, as well as non-medicated methods such as combing the scalp and using a lice comb to remove the eggs. It is also important to treat all members of the household, as well as any close contacts, to prevent re-infestation.
