Leukocytopenia
Leukocytopenia is a medical condition characterized by an abnormally low white blood cell count. White blood cells (or leukocytes) are an important part of the body's immune system, helping to fight off infection and disease. A low white blood cell count can make an individual more vulnerable to infection and can be a sign of an underlying medical condition. The exact cause of Leukocytopenia can vary, but it can be caused by a variety of conditions, such as autoimmune disorders, medications, chemotherapy, radiation, or certain infections. Treatment of Leukocytopenia is determined on a case-by-case basis and may involve medications, lifestyle changes, or a combination of both. In some cases, a bone marrow transplant may be necessary.
