Hyperemesis
Hyperemesis is a condition characterized by severe, recurrent vomiting and nausea. It is most commonly seen in pregnant women, although it can also occur in non-pregnant individuals. Symptoms of this condition include excessive vomiting, weight loss, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and an inability to keep food and liquids down. In some cases, the vomiting may become so severe that it requires hospitalization. Treatment for hyperemesis gravidarum typically involves dietary modifications, fluid replacement, medications to control nausea and vomiting, and, in some cases, intravenous fluids. In severe cases, hospitalization may be necessary. The goal of treatment is to stop the vomiting, restore hydration, electrolyte balance, and nutrition, and to prevent complications.
