Hydrocele

A hydrocele is a medical condition that occurs when fluid accumulates in the scrotum, the sac that contains the testicles. This fluid can build up around one or both testicles, causing swelling and discomfort. Hydroceles can occur in males of any age, but are most common in newborns and are typically painless. Treatment for a hydrocele may include draining the fluid through a needle, or surgery to remove the fluid. In some cases, no treatment is necessary as the hydrocele may resolve on its own.
