High Blood Pressure
High Blood Pressure, also known as Hypertension, is a medical condition that occurs when the pressure of the blood in the arteries is too high. This can cause damage to the walls of the arteries, leading to increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and even organ damage. The symptoms of High Blood Pressure include headaches, dizziness, chest pain, and blurred vision. High Blood Pressure can be caused by a variety of factors such as age, gender, obesity, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption. There are also certain medications that can contribute to High Blood Pressure. Treatment for High Blood Pressure includes lifestyle modifications such as reducing salt intake, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and managing stress. Medications such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, and calcium channel blockers may also be prescribed to help lower blood pressure. If lifestyle modifications and medications are not enough to control High Blood Pressure, then surgery may be recommended. Surgery to treat High Blood Pressure includes angioplasty, stenting, and coronary artery bypass grafting.
