Frigidity

Frigidity is a medical term referring to a lack of physical arousal or response to sexual stimulation in women. It can be caused by physical or psychological factors, or a combination of both. Physically, it can be caused by hormonal imbalances, medications, or medical conditions such as diabetes or an underactive thyroid. Psychologically, it can be caused by fear of sex, negative body image, past trauma or abuse, low self-esteem, or a lack of knowledge or understanding of sexual pleasure. This can manifest itself in a lack of physical response or arousal, difficulty with orgasm, or a lack of interest in sex. Treatment for frigidity typically involves a combination of counseling and lifestyle changes, such as exercise, stress reduction, and improved communication with partners.
