Erysipelas
Erysipelas is a bacterial infection of the skin caused by the Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. It is usually seen as a red, raised, and painful rash that is often quite itchy. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, including fever, chills, nausea, and fatigue. The infection can spread quickly and, if left untreated, can become life-threatening. Treatment usually involves antibiotics and supportive measures.
