Endocardosis
Endocardosis is a type of heart disease that involves the inner lining of the heart, known as the endocardium. It is caused by damage to the endocardium, which can be the result of infection, inflammation or scarring. Symptoms may include shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, palpitations and a new or changed heart murmur. Treatment may include antibiotics, anticoagulants, anti-arrhythmic medications, and/or surgery. In some cases, endocardosis can be life-threatening and may require hospitalization.
