Ectoparasite

Ectoparasites are organisms that live on the outside of a host organism and feed on its blood or other bodily fluids. Examples of ectoparasites include fleas, mites, ticks, lice, and bedbugs. These organisms can cause a variety of health problems, such as skin irritation, anemia, and even serious diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. In addition to causing physical problems, ectoparasites can also spread bacteria and viruses, which can lead to further health issues. Treatment for ectoparasites typically includes medications and insecticides. In some cases, the host animal may need to be isolated in order to prevent the spread of infection.
