Dusgeusia

Dysgeusia is a disorder of taste perception, where a person experiences a persistent and unpleasant alteration in the taste of foods or drinks. It is also known as parageusia or an altered taste sensation. It can be a metallic, bitter, sour, or salty taste, or it may be a complete loss of taste. Dysgeusia can be caused by a variety of underlying medical conditions, such as allergies, infections, medications, or nutritional deficiencies. It is also associated with head trauma, radiation therapy, and certain diseases, such as diabetes and stroke. Treatment of dysgeusia depends on the underlying cause and typically includes dietary changes, medications, or lifestyle modifications.
