Diverticulosis
Diverticulosis is a condition that occurs when small, bulging pouches (diverticula) form in the lining of the large intestine (colon). These pouches can be caused by an increase in pressure in the colon due to a low-fiber diet, constipation, or other factors. While this condition itself is not dangerous, it can sometimes lead to complications such as diverticulitis, inflammation of the pouches, and in rare cases, bleeding. Symptoms of diverticulosis may include abdominal pain, bloating, and constipation. Treatment usually involves increasing fiber intake and taking medications to reduce inflammation.
