Crohn’s Disease

Crohn's Disease is a type of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) that results in inflammation of the digestive tract, most commonly the small and large intestines. Symptoms of Crohn's Disease can vary from patient to patient, but the most common symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea, weight loss, fatigue, and rectal bleeding. People with Crohn's may also experience fever, joint pain, eye inflammation, and skin rashes. The cause of Crohn's Disease is unknown, but research suggests that a combination of genetics, environmental factors, and the immune system may be involved. Treatment for Crohn's Disease typically involves lifestyle changes, medications, and in some cases, surgery.
