Corneal Opacity
Corneal opacity is a condition in which a person’s cornea becomes cloudy or hazy, blocking or reducing the amount of light that is normally able to pass through the eye and reach the retina. This can result in a decrease in vision, as the light is not able to reach the retina and allow the person to see. The opacity of the cornea can be caused by several different factors, such as injury, infection, inflammation, or a genetic disorder. Treatment for corneal opacity depends on the underlying cause, but may include antibiotics, corticosteroids, surgery, or even a corneal transplant.
