Collapse

Collapse is a medical emergency where a patient’s vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate and/or respiratory rate, drop suddenly and rapidly. This can be caused by a variety of conditions, including severe dehydration, shock, trauma, cardiac arrest, drug overdose, anaphylactic shock, or severe blood loss. Symptoms may include dizziness, confusion, fainting, difficulty breathing, and/or loss of consciousness. A medical collapse requires immediate medical attention and stabilization. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and can include intravenous fluids, medications, or other interventions to restore vital signs and stabilize the patient.
