Cancer tongue
Cancer of the tongue is a type of head and neck cancer that arises from the cells of the tongue. It is relatively rare, but can be quite serious if not treated in time. Symptoms include a sore tongue, changes in the way the tongue looks or feels, pain or difficulty while eating and drinking, and/or a lump on the tongue. Treatment may include surgery, radiation therapy, and/or chemotherapy. Depending on the type and stage of cancer, doctors may suggest a combination of treatments. If caught early, the prognosis is generally good and the chances of a successful outcome are high.
