Cancer lymph
Cancer lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. It is a disease in which malignant (cancerous) cells form in the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is made up of lymph nodes, vessels, and other tissues that produce and store infection-fighting white blood cells (lymphocytes). Lymphomas are divided into two main types: Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). HL is divided into four subtypes, while NHL is divided into many subtypes. Cancer lymphoma is caused by a number of different factors, including genetic predisposition, environmental exposure, and viral infections. Treatment for lymphoma depends on the type and stage of the cancer. Treatment may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and/or immunotherapy. Surgery may be used in certain cases. The goal of treatment is to reduce the size of the tumor and keep it from spreading to other parts of the body.
